This means we will involve you in doing research

Around the world ordinary people of all ages engage in citizen science; this means taking part in projects where volunteers and scientists work together to answer real-world questions.

Why citizen science

The models of citizen science support our aims of bringing research closer to the people who will benefit most and providing accessible and inclusive opportunities to contribute to bigger scientific and research programmes.

Citizen science is an opportunity to enable a much wider group of people to be part of research, as well as learning more about – and gaining trust in – the principles of health research.

Building up from 2017-22

We will further develop our capability to deliver citizen science projects. These will enable direct contributions from the public and build on work already undertaken in the Nottingham BRC in our first five years of operation, most notably in our Musculoskeletal Theme and as part of our response to COVID-19.
