The Nottingham BRC Director, working through the Board sets the strategic direction and holds the BRC Operations Group to account for the delivery of the BRC’s strategy and objectives. It also provides the leadership to develop the partnerships and collaborations which are an essential part of the way we work.
We will convene an annual external scientific advisory board which will include an international advisor from each of the theme advisory boards together with two experts to provide overall guidance.
Each theme is led by a senior clinical academic who works with an experienced Research Manager supported by an NUH Finance Officer.
Each research theme reviews and adapts their strategic direction with the support of the BRC Director, the annual scientific advisory and the BRC boards.
The Nottingham BRC is hosted by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) which has identified Research and Innovation as one of its six strategic objectives for delivering outstanding patient care. In partnership with the University of Nottingham, NUH has developed a clinical research strategy with joint objectives and metrics. The Nottingham BRC is one of the primary strategic objectives of the partnership. NCRIC will oversee the delivery of the joint strategy and report to the NUH and University of Nottingham executive boards.
