Mark Cole - Nottingham BRC

In the 1980s Mark Cole completed his undergraduate education and registered as a Mental Health and Adult nurse before forging an eight year career in Accident and Emergency nursing. Mark moved to Infection Prevention and Control in 1995 where he worked for Acute, Community and Mental Health Trusts in Lincolnshire before transferring to Higher Education in 2004. He was employed first by the University of Nottingham and then the University of Lincoln under a TUPE transfer arrangement. He moved to the University of Manchester in 2016. Mark has a broad experience in the undergraduate nursing curriculum and has worked as the admission tutor, the lead academic support for the allocations team and taught across modules including, Critical Care Nursing, Research, Evidence Based Practice, Health Informatics and Accountability. His particular interests are in Infection Prevention and Control and he has led the Continuing Professional Development provision for this specialism in the three universities where he has worked.
