Simon Johnson's research interests: metalloproteinases in lung remodelling, molecular pathology and translational studies in lymphangioleiomyomatosis, COPD, asthma and interstitial lung disease.

Theme Co-lead

Prof Bolton's research interests include chronic respiratory disease (mainly COPD) focusing on extrapulmonary manifestations and role of pulmonary rehabilitation, collaboration in Nepal and respiratory health of adults born preterm.

Each of our research themes is led by an experienced research manager who oversees all aspects of the clinical trials within their theme. They have a key role in liaising with internal and external stakeholders as well as ensuring the effective delivery of our research programmes.
